Usiminas Mecânica wins the Chico Mendes Socio-Environmental Award
The Chico Mendes Institute has granted “Usiminas Mecânica” the Green Seal of Sustainability through its Socio-Environmental Award, which aims to recognize sustainable initiatives. In its 11th edition, the award granted by the Chico Mendes Institute, evaluates, supports and recognizes companies with a proactive stance regarding sustainable development and social well-being in everyday life. Usiminas Mecânica has exceeded the average in all items evaluated by the Institute´s Technical Commission composed of volunteer specialists in the areas of Business Management, Personal Management, Environmental Law, Environmental Management and Biology.
“This award is the result of a great deal of work and dedication from Usiminas Mecânica entire workforce. The Green Seal reaffirms the company's commitment to support the development of the communities where it operates and care for the environment”, says the company´s environmental expert, Alvanir José de Souza.
Nearly 1,800 national and international companies have been rated. The Chico Mendes Socio-Environmental Award ceremony will be held in March 2019, in the city of Curitiba/PR.
