Usiminas CEO and Industrial Leaders of the Country go to Brasilia to defend Brazil’s Agenda
Usiminas CEO, Sergio Leite, also Steel Institute Brazil Council Chairman , was in Brasilia yesterday, to take part in the Industrial Coalition meeting, integrated by eleven industry entities, with the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, the Economy Minister, Paulo Guedes, and staff. At the occasion, the Industrial Leaders discussed the progress of the group's objectives, listed in the so-called Brazil´s Agenda, whose main purpose is to reestablish economic growth in the country. During the meeting, in addition to announcing support for the Social Security and Tax reforms advocated by the government, the group presented a series of proposals for income and employment generation through sectors such as construction and infrastructure.
Decrease in bureaucracy was another priority of Brazil´s Agenda discussed at the time. In this area, the government has also committed to revoke a series of regulations to encourage business and reduce costs.
The Industry Coalition gathers representatives from eleven productive sectors in the country. Together, they account for 39% of the Industry Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 58% of Manufacturing Exports, 30 million direct and indirect jobs, and an estimated contribution of R$ 250 billion in taxes.
